When I hired Heidi to perform my audiobook, I realized the difference between average voice talent and talent like hers is that she understands how to impersonate a character with conviction, not just recite their words. You're not getting a disinterested voice; you're getting someone who can bring the humanity in writing alive without needing to be directed to find it. I wound up doing far, far less in post-production than I had planned because I thought, "Why should I bother putting music behind this scene when her reading totally nailed the emotion!"
